We had our first experience of Centre Parcs a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say we absolutely loved it! Not that I thought we wouldn’t, but I did have some pre-conceptions of an expensive Butlins in the woods. I was so wrong, it was amazing – from the beautiful giant redwoods, to the gorgeous lake and not to mention the most amazing indoor pool I’ve ever been to. So warm in there that if you closed your eyes you could have been in the Caribbean (kind of, maybe I’m exaggerating) but nevertheless even on a rainy day that pool felt tropical.

We all loved our cute little house in the woods, although initially the word “shed” came to mind when I saw it, actually it was really spacious inside, clean and modern. We loved the fact we backed onto a pond and we had a little family of ducks with their ducklings visit us every morning for bread. So cute!

I’m not sure Centre Parcs would be somewhere I’d even have considered going without kids, but now they are here it’s so geared up for little families like ours, we went just as the schools went back, so the place was full of parents with pre-schoolers and babies. Mila (our 2 year old) loved it and especially enjoyed getting her face painted like a Tiger, the many, many playgrounds and doing some “Mini Trek” outdoor pursuits for toddlers. Bella (our 5 month old) didn’t really know what was going on, but enjoyed it nevertheless.

See you next year Centre Parcs, we are official fans.
