Charlotte and Alex’s wedding took place in the beautiful Chilterns in Buckinghamshire where Charlotte grew up. Charlotte got ready with her Bridesmaids at the Crown Plaza, Gerrards Cross and wore a gorgeous bespoke gown by This Modern Love Bridal. Her Bridemaids wore white dresses, and beautiful headdresses by The Nagundo Tree. Charlotte was so relaxed on the day, and looked naturally beautiful and glowing, the perfect bride.
Charlotte and Alex got married at Charlotte’s family church, St Joseph’s in Chalfont St Peter, and had their reception at the Chiltern Open Air Museum. When Charlotte told me about their reception venue, I just had to go and see it for myself, so we agreed to meet there for their engagement shoot, which was brilliant for me as I got to explore before the big day! The museum is set in beautiful grounds, and filled with rescued historic buildings, from barns to old wartime shelters, to a tin church, it provides such a perfect backdrop for photos!
After their ceremony, the couple had confetti outside the church, which is always one of my favourite photo opportunities! The guests then headed over to the museum grounds for their reception drinks. The weather was absolutely glorious, and guests were treated to some live music while sipping their champagne in the sunshine!
The Skipping Barn was where the couple held their reception, which provided a lovely backdrop, alongside the quirky buildings in the grounds, which I took full advantage of for photos. Alex and Charlotte have such close group of friends which always makes the Bridal Party photos so natural, fun and relaxed. Very little was prompting needed to make these guys look like they were having a good time!
Charlotte and Alex’s wedding breakfast took place in a marquee just behind the barn, and was adorned with beautiful hanging foliage and flowers. Tables were named after Alex’s favourite Service Stations…yes really…something that Alex found hilarious and Charlotte couldn’t negotiate with!
In the evening, we had a glorious golden hour, which we took full advantage of, capturing some gorgeous shots of the couple in the low summer evening sun. During the evening, guests partied the night away, dancing to one of the coolest music acts I’ve ever seen – DJ Ellis from Brighton who DJs, and plays sax was just incredible! To make things even cooler for the evening Charlotte changed into a beautiful white jumpsuit and adorned her personalised “Mrs Smith” leather jacket. I mean, this couple were so just cool, had so much class and style and were not afraid to do things their way, I loved it!
Thanks so much Charlotte & Alex, your wedding day was amazing!
