It was literally a dream to shoot Maddy & Andy’s Black Tie Autumnal Wedding at the beautiful Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire. Hedsor is nestled in the beautiful Chiltern countryside, and is a stunning Georgian Mansion in over 100 acres, it’s just the perfect wedding venue and I’m always thrilled to shoot there. The weather was bright, cold and crisp – the couple were so lucky, it was perfect weather for an Autumnal wedding.
Maddy and her Bridesmaids got ready in the stunning Bridal Suite, which is the most stunning suite, made up of three gorgeous rooms and possibly the largest bathroom I’ve ever been in! Of course I had to take advantage and get a photo of Maddy and her Bridesmaids sat in the huge rolltop bath!
Maddy wore a gorgeous lace Suzanne Neville gown, from Ellie Sanderson in Beaconsfield, and her Bridesmaids wore stunning gold dresses from John Lewis. The lovely Sarah from Thorne Brides was with us all morning making all of the girls look beautiful.
The couple got married in the gorgeous chapel on the Hedsor Estate. It’s a 10 minute walk from the house, and although the terrain is a little bumpy, many of the guests took on the challenge, even in their heels! As soon as Maddy had walked down the beautiful staircase with her Father, I literally ran with my kit through the grounds to the chapel and met my 2nd Shooter Carrie there who had been with Andy and the Groomsmen all morning.
Maddy and Andy had such a beautiful ceremony, and the tiny chapel looked beautiful dressed with candles and flowers by Richard Elder. After the Ceremony, the couple had possibly the longest confetti line I’ve ever seen, and then Andy whisked Maddy off in his prized vintage car for a little alone time! Back at the house, Goose and Berry who were catering the event, greeted guests with champagne, and the most incredible Grazing Table for guests to enjoy.
Maddy and Andy’s couple photos took places in the grounds just outside of the house, and although it was rather chilly, they coped well with the cold and we got some gorgeous shots, and even took advantage of some winter golden hour sun. We also managed to do the group shots outside, and captured Hedsor’s beautiful grounds. I have to admit there was lot of “pretend you’re in the Bahamas” from me, to remind everyone not too look cold in the photos!
The stunning Ballroom was the backdrop for Maddy and Andy’s Wedding Breakfast, and looked so warm and festive. As usual the food from Goose and Berry was incredible and on the tables, guests were treated to cocktails and favours including home-made Jam, and giant gold leafed fortune cookies.
After dinner, the party quickly got going as guests were treated to a Mojito Bar and a Magician who worked his magic around the room! Maddy and Andy had their first dance on the stunning black and white dancefloor, and at the end of the evening, the perfect day was topped off by a sparkler tunnel which always guarantees some gorgeous photos.
Congratulations Maddy & Andy and thanks for having me shoot your amazing day!
